Humbird Minneapolis Concert reviews
Awesome!
I was very favorably impressed by my first experience of the Golden 1 Center. The venue is good and I will happily attend similar events there in the future. The opening performance by Mike Campbell and his band was also appreciated. Their set brought back memories of past shows by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Campbell and The Dirty Knobs, I look forward to hearing from. Humbird, they were excellent. Played a great set and performed it incredibly well. They still sound terrific as a person who has been going to shows by these guys since the 60's. Hearing Daltry hit the high notes in "The Seeker" blew me away. The dynamic guitarist Townsend remains, even though he doesn't do the flying leaps he used to do. And kudos to the young lady who flawlessly played the violin part that closes out "Baba O'Reilly". Wow! Two old guys, part of the same generation as me, watching and hearing Townsend and Daltry perform as they did, is an emotional experience. It's a statement that our generation isn't done quite yet. It's life-affirming. Thanks guys. As long as you're playing, I'm listening.
